BRIEF OVERVIEW
In 1999 "Little Bit O'Heaven Rescue & the Rainbow Connection" was operating out of Ovett, MS, by Beverly Greenwood (Huval) & Marci Chatfield in what has been described as "squalid conditions".

On January 11, 2000, a post was circulated by Greenwood and Chatfield  announcing that Little Bit O' Heaven and Rainbow Connection had merged with Pets & People: Companions in Therapy and Service".   They announced that they were this group's new "Rescue Coordinators" with "Marcia Greenwood" doing their accounting and "Beverly Huval". a volunteer, and were now calling themselves  "Pets & People's Rainbow Connection".

Operated by  Beverly Greenwood & Marci Chatfield, "Pets & People's Rainbow Connection" was a self-professed rescue/hospice/service dog training faction of "Pets & People: Companions in Therapy and Service" (whose head office was now located  in Citronelle/Mobile, Alabama, and was/is operated by Pat Gonser & Mary Johnson).

An Email was sent to Mary Johnson of Pets & People voicing concerns about Greenwood and asking why Pets & People allowed it to continue if Greenwood were now involved with Pets & People.  Instead of responding or dealing with this, Johnson complained to the writer's ISP of harassment.

In early 2001, local health authorities in Ovett, MS, paid Greenwood & Chatfield a visit, Chatfield fled and the majority of dogs in their possession at that time were dumped on rescue groups in the area.  Most had health and/or behavioral problems and were euthanized.

Greenwood immediately resurfaced  in Meridian, MS, where problems continued and she once again began collecting.  (At least one incident was reported of a horse dropping dead in Greenwood's  yard and being left there until local authorities disposed of it. )  The house in Meridian, owned by Pat Gonser of Pets & People, went into foreclosure and Greenwood was on the move again, again dumping her collection of  dogs into shelters and rescue.

Bogue Chitto, MS,  was her next port o' call, into a house owned this time by Mary Johnson of Pets & People.   Greenwood then did a switch and started using the name "People 'n Pets"

As before,  she immediately began collecting.

In February, 2002,  Greenwood was observed stealing a dog, Ozzie, which she subsequently sold in a PetsMart transaction in Alabama.  The dog was recovered and returned to its owner.   (A report of this will be found inside these pages.)

On July 27, 2002, it was reported that "Beverly Greenwood of Pets & People" was seen selling dogs at a PetsMart in Baton Rouge, LA.   The reporter wrote of one dog he had seen, " .. The dog was filthy - long term filthy - and very poorly nourished."  Then on July 28, 2002, Greenwood gave her card to a director of the Capital Animal Welfare Society in Baton Rouge, asking if they had any dogs for her program.  She was turned away.

The weekend of July 19, 2003, Greenwood was again seen at a Baton Rouge, LA, PetsMart with animals.

Greenwood is reported to be extending her range to other Gulf States and may be using the name "Huval".  You may also be contacted by others in the Pets & People organization (specifically Pat Gonser and Mary Johnson) who are working with Beverly Greenwood, including Greenwood's daughters Monique Huval (Duval) and Danielle Huval.

July, 2004 - Greenwood reported to be in the Ruth/Brookhaven, MS, area, living with a woman named Gean  H. Norton, the owner of the 11 acres where they are currently keeping 30-40 horses, 12-15 cows, goats, chickens and a lot of dogs.  She is being assisted by her 2 daughters Monique and Danielle - like their mother, they have several pseudonyms - possibly using the name Huval.

As before,  she immediately began collecting - this time adding horses to her list of target animals.

Pat Gonser & Mary Johnson
of "Pets & People"
continued to defend Greenwood (Huval) & her activities from late 1999, through March, 2005 - why did it take
FIVE YEARS???
