In the year 2000 we contacted Holly Adocock who placed 2 pugs at LBOH - her pugs were Autumn & Isaac and are among the missing although Beverly Greenwood and Marci Huval continued to insist that the dogs were there.  They even sent Holly photos of 2 pugs purporting to be Autumn and Isaac but which they had taken from another pug web site.  We have been in contact with the owner of the 2 pugs whose picture they seconded - definitely not Isaac & Autumn.

In spite of being ill, Holly took time to write to the following response to our inquiry:

In Responce to the new update listed on your page Susan by Marion Goyer.
I want to first appologize to Marion again, as I DID give Bev & Marci a
good reference, at that time i had thought they were wonderful
people, they had me very fooled  (I was fairly new to the internet, &
being they & Gail Lawsons were the first Rescuers I had met & worked
with through the internet) believeing we could be friends over the internet &
they called me ALL the time & I certainly dident see through their lies.

They "seemed" nice & were always talking of their dogs offering help &
takeing hard to place dogs from  Gail & Elaine in MO (who I trusted) &
I thought they were doing good for helping in saveing lives of SO many
dogs taken from MO..& I too had a few red flags because of catching them
a one or two lies in the beggining but they ALWAYS had a great excuse
for everything & I was blind to this I am sorry to admit.

Distance is a very scary & horrible thing & because of what happened
to the dogs, Autumn & Issiac & others, I truely understand & learned t
he hard way that just because a person calls themselves "rescuers": doesnt
mean they are.

I want you to know that I too am devistated by what happened with Issiac &
Autumn & Nash & all of the other precious dogs that have "dissappeared"
in the hands of these two girls. I loved those Pugs as I am sure you all
loved the dogs you sent with them also. Most Rescuers become very bonded
with their dogs & this is a rescuers worst nightmare. Its so painful
& so unbelievable that this could happen that there ARE people like that
out there.

My first bad experience was when these girls took a dog intended to
go to  be adopted by a Well known Rescuer named Victoria King
on a run I was partially involved in.  I hate the fact that this dog is possibly
still there too just kills me because they tried to get me to lie for them to her
so they could keep the dog which they had all intentions of anyhow reguardless
what I did & they played so many mind games with me , you know the he said
she said stuff to turn me against Victoria & to not believe her, that I
dident know who was lieing anymore or what I believed so I pulled my head outta
there & left them alone instead of fighting for that dog that never should
have stayed there.

(May God watch over Fraya the Chinese Crested Angel)

I havent spoke much on this but Ive wanted to. I have found out way
more about those ladies than I ever wanted to know includeing that they
hated Issiac & Autumn & Nash from the getgo. A fact they will never admit
to me, and one I will never be able to understand.I want answers
it tears me up that I cannot get them!  I want to know WHERE these dogs
are & why, why did they ever take them if they did not want them.
These dogs could have found loveing homes ..That isincredibley painful.

I cannot take back the fact that I adopted Issiac & Autumn to these women
or that I gave them a reference for adopting Nash but I can tell you that
I will forever feel that pain & sor row for these dogs I loved so much &
the regret I feel for ever letting them leave my arms.

I have sadly learned NOT TO TRUST... Everyone must prove yourselves
so this doesnt EVER happen to another dog. Homechecks are a MUST in Rescue, get Vet
References & Personal references & pray for each & every dog you adopt out...

(In Loveing Memory Forever of Issiac & Autumn & Nash....)
