TEACHING THE NEXT GENERATION OF COLLECTORS/HOARDERS

After "Poogie's Page" went up and received mass attention in the rescue community resulting in many groups and individuals refusing to turn dogs over to her , Greenwood started using her children to solicit for her.  They were also seen "panhandling" for food or money in Hattiesburg during this same period - all the while canvassing for more dogs.

Most on-line rescue groups refuse them admittance.  However, there is one written confirmation from March 09, 2000,  when "Monique (jr. rescue vol)" wrote from (then) LBOH soliciting a St. Bernard available for adoption.  This is just one of many breeds of dogs they have tried to acquire since 1999.

March 09, 2000 - Tonight on ADogRescue "Monique (jr. rescue vol)" wrote from LBOH regarding a St. Bernard: "If you have a St. Bernard that would do good in our home.. We always wanted one.. Thank you.. please get back intonch with us thanks again..
-Monique-(Jr. rescue vol.)
Also my mom is looking for a service dog.. So a St. Bernard is one of the breds she was looking at.."

Well, "Mom" would be either Bev or Marci and they are always on the lookout for everything - their stock phase is, "we always wanted one" - a line they used with me when they said of Poogie and Albert, "We've always wanted a poodle..."

Just 13 months ago they were trying to get another St. Bernard out of the shelter in Kansas City. Fortunately they failed there, too. It is pretty much a fill-in-the-blank deal with these people. "Ooooh, we've ALWAYS wanted a ________. We just love them !!!" A partial list of dogs (documented) they have tried and in some cases succeeded in getting sent to them in Ovett, MS, are:

English Bulldog Chinese Crested
St. Bernard Italian Greyhound
Pekinese Doberman Pincher
Dachsund Great Dane
Poodle Irish Wolfhound
Pit Bull

Anybody see any logical pattern to this "we're dying to have one of these" breed choices ? I don't. And St. Bernards are not high on the list of ideal service dogs. BEWARE !!!

And beware of their using their children (who are now young adults) to solicit dogs so they themselves will not be recognized.  Whether using such names as Bev, Marci, Monique, Danielle, Chatfield, Sutton, Greenwood, LBOH, Pets & People and now Gean Norton - it is still Beverly Greenwood and she's still collecting!
