Marion Goyer speaks out for Nash
Marion placed Nash with LBOH - the similarities beween what they "pulled" on Marion and my experience
 with them is very similar.

Hi Susan,

You did write to me last December on behalf of Nash letting me know that you haven't forgotten about him.  You gave me Poogie's web page which has Nash's story.
Thank you for writing on behalf of the person who asked "Why did I leave Nash there?".

I was contacted via phone by Marci who heard from Hollie Adcock that there was a special-needs Pug in our rescue.  Hollie Adcock gave them a glowing reference and said they were her best friends.

Marci's claim was that she wanted Nash for herself to love and care for.  He was neutered and they knew that.  To speculate what their sick motives are, is truly unfathomable and heartbreaking to the normal person.

After they contacted me, I met them on one of their runs to Memphis.  The person with whom they swapped dogs on this run gave a good reference.

They completed our adoption application and signed our adoption contract.  I checked their "vet" reference and home screened them with Nash's foster family.

Yes.  There were a few red flags.

Nash was in our rescue care for 2 years.  We have extreme difficulty finding suitable homes for any of our Pugs in our metropolitan area.  I questioned Bev and Marci as to how are they able to find homes in rural Mississippi for hard to place large and mixed-breed dogs.  Their response was "they have their sources".  I interpreted this that they network heavily via the internet (something I choose not to pursue since I try to place our Pugs close to home).

Another red flag was my difficulty in reaching their "vet".  It was odd that when I called the phone # they listed on the application for their vet, the vet clinic would only say that the vet I was trying to reach "was not in".  After trying unsuccessfully a couple more times, I questioned LBOH and was told they listed their "vet's" old phone # by mistake and that their "vet" recently left the clinic on unfavorable terms.  (How can someone give a wrong # for their vet?  Especially a vet they are in frequent touch with.) LBOH then gave me a home phone # to reach their "vet".  This "vet" never returned my calls.  Relaying this to Bev and Marci, they said that one of their personal references on the adoption application was, also, a "vet".  I reached this person (not at a vet clinic) who gave them a good reference.  I never reached a vet at a clinic.

Nash's foster family took excellent loving care of Nash.  The foster family, Nash and I made a 12 hour round trip to the LBOH facility/home for the adoption to take place.  I understand that out of all the dogs Bev and Marci have taken in from other rescues that we're the only ones to have been to their property for a home screening.

Their house is far from good condition but was clean for our visit.  They weren't overrun with animals inside and out from what we were allowed to witness.  We witnessed them allowing some of their dogs to be unconfined and running loose outside.  No home is perfect and no home is exactly like our own.  Bev and Marci accepted Nash with his odd behavior and bathroom problem.  Aside from a gut feeling that this wasn't a perfect home, I took them on their word that he would receive the love, acceptance, and medical attention he required.

Bev claimed to have been a vet technician.

It was the best home I could find for my special-needs little Nash.

This remains very hard to write about him but I am determined to help warn others about the sick situation they have created.

Thank you very much for your efforts in helping to stop the horror.

Marian - I haven't written you before - or if I do, my memory fails me -
but there is a portion of "Poogie's Page" dedicated to dear little Nash and
the other pugs.  What Bev and Marci are doing is something that has to be
stopped - I'm trying to do my bit!

There was a question in Poogie's guestbook the other day asking why you
would leave Nash there - can you give me an answer to post - or should I
say, will you give me an answer to post.

I placed Poogie and Albert there but those 2 conned me over the phone - and
continued to con me and my diabetic pet group long after Poogie and Albert
were gone.

They must be stopped!
